Warning for avoiding superstitions

On the night of the same day that the Shah had escaped, a number of my friends came to me to make a decision about the rally that was going to be held the next day. Different people were present in the meeting and it was decided that no logos or signs of any group, party or organization would be shown in the rally. Of course, our main concern was the Mujahedin-e Khalq Organization on whose behalf several students had also participated in the meeting.

Mojtaba Taleghani, the son of Ayatollah Taleghani, has been arrested due to his affiliation with a leftist group and carrying illegal weapon. This issue made a fuss. It was heard in the news and sayings that Mojtaba Taleghani has planned to attack somewhere with this weapon, and the other impressions like this. At that time, Engineer Gharazi served in IRGC, and it was he who arrested Ayatollah Taleghanis son. Dr. Ebrahim Yazdi and ...

Art Foundation of the Underprivileged

But the story of the formation of "Art Foundation of the Underprivileged". A few months had passed since the victory of the revolution. One day, I was passing by Shahabad Street, the distance between the current Majlis building and Mokhbar al-Douleh Square . My eyes fell on the large and painted picture of a half-naked woman on the door of a cinema. I think it was called "Cinema Europe". We had seen enough of these scenes, ...

General, this is not Quran!

The [Qom] seminary was the center of the gathering of religious students, especially because the occasion of 15th of Khordad (June 5) motivated some to participate in this gathering of religious students [in 1970], but they did not imagine that the school would be raided and some were arrested. As a result, it is possible that there were low-motivated or unmotivated people in this group, but naturally, those of us who were arrested and the thirty or so people who ...

Marivan Conspiracy

Memories of Martyr Mustafa Chamran

Twenty-Five local Kurdish guards lived in Marivan, who were from Marivan, and had a house there, and their only fault was that they believed in the Islamic Revolution of Iran and did not want to follow the left parties. Hundreds of armed members of the left parties entered Marivan on July 14, 1979. They surrounded the guards, killed half of them, and injured or scared away the rest. One of the wounded guards was decapitated with a mosaic, ...

Along with Dr. Chamran in Tyre

One day, my brother Sadiq and aunt Betoul and I went to Jebel Aamal Industrial Institute in Tyre at the invitation of Dr. Chamran. We entered Dr. Chamrans residence, which was in the same institution. The passion and interest of the teenagers who lived there for Dr. Chamran was very impressive. Dr. Chamran also hugged them warmly. We entered his room. A room that was arranged with very simple and few things. Above all, books and weapons were seen there.

An exhibition in prison

Translated by M. B. Khoshnevisan

I had been living secretly for some time [Masoud Sotoudeh], one night I decided to go to my fathers house. It was 1:30 a.m. when I slowly and carefully jumped over the wall of the house into the yard. I was so tired that I fell asleep in a corner of the yard. I suddenly woke up with a loud noise. It was still dark. The sound was heard from the house next door to our wall.

Dismissal of Bani-Sadr

Memories of Ayatollah Mojtahedi Tabrizi

Shortly after start of the imposed war, Imam [Khomeini] (PBUH) appointed Bani-Sadr as Commander-in-chief. After that, he took over command of the war. As Commander-in-Chief of the forces, Bani-Sadr cared somehow the army [(Artesh)]; while not only he did not cooperate with IRGC and did not care it, but also opposed it. I went to the front a few times and talked to several commanders of IRGC; they all complained about Bani-Sadr and said this man does not provide enough ammunition to IRGC.

Political activities of railway workers in Arak

Translated by M. B. Khoshnevisan

I started taking the leaflets, and their distribution and reproduction in Dey of 1356 (December 1977) when an insulting article was written about the Imam. When I [Mohammed Javad Gerami] and other railway workers were at work and commuting to Qom by train, we took the leaflets from the offices of Mr. Pasandideh, the brother of Imam Khomeini, Ayatollah Golpayegani and Ayatollah Shariatmadari, brought them to Arak, and then reproduced and distributed them.

Working in Jihad Sazandegi

Memories of Saeedeh Seddighzadeh

At the very beginning of the revolution, Imam Khomeini ordered to establish several institutions such as Jihad Sazandegi (Jihad of Construction), Basij, and Nehzat-e Savad Amuzi (Literacy Movement). Did you also work in these institutions? I held a class on behalf of Narjes School (Maktab-e Narjes) for educators of the literacy movement who wanted to become a teacher in villages. I taught methods of teaching Quran, attractions of classroom management, and dealing with students.

Hajj Pilgrimage

I went on a Hajj pilgrimage in the early 1340s (1960s). At that time, few people from the army, gendarmerie and police went on a pilgrimage to the holy Mashhad and holy shrines in Iraq. It happened very rarely. After all, there were faithful people in the Iranian army who were committed to obeying the Islamic halal and haram rules in any situation, and they used to pray.

Programs of New Year Holidays
Without blooming, without flowers, without greenery and without a table for Haft-sin , another spring has been arrived. Spring came to the camp without bringing freshness and the first days of New Year began in this camp. We were unaware of the plans that old friends had in this camp when Eid (New Year) came.

Attack on Halabcheh narrated

With wet saliva, we are having the lunch which that loving Isfahani man gave us from the back of his van when he said goodbye in the city entrance. Adaspolo [lentils with rice] with yoghurt! We were just started having it when the plane dives, we go down and shelter behind the runnel, and a few moments later, when the plane raises up, we also raise our heads, and while eating, we see the high sides ...

The Arab People Committee

Another event that happened in Khuzestan Province and I followed up was the Arab People Committee. One day, we were informed that the Arabs had set up a committee special for themselves. At that time, I had less information about the Arab People , but knew well that dividing the people into Arab and non-Arab was a harmful measure.
