Oral history, a path to inform history

According to the Oral History Site, the Islamic Majlis with the chairs of elected representatives, has always been the key legislative body in Iran and has witnessed many historical upheavals. There have been many presented features in Baharestan , hence recording the oral history of the active figures in the Islamic Majlis before and after the Revolution has been critical for historical scholars.

According to the website of Iranian Oral history, a one-day and specialized workshop titled “Delicacies and Techniques, from Interview to Compilation” organized by the Education and Research Department of the Art Center of Isfahan Province was held in the House of Artists of Isfahan’s Art Center on Wednesday 5th of September 2018. It was attended by Morteza Sarhangi, the founder of the Office of Resistance Literature and Art and Sassan Nateq, writer.

According to Iranian Oral History Website, 294th program of the series of the sacred defenses memory night was held in Sooreh Hall of Hozeh Honari on Thursday evening, Thursday, August 23, 2018. In this program, Hojjatoleslam Ali Shirazi, Mojtaba Jafari and Mohsen Fallah presented their memories of the holy shrine defenders and their era of captivity.

Publication of Oral History Theory in Persian

“Oral History Theory” by Lynn Abrams, translated by Fathali Ashtiani was published by the Office of Islamic Revolution Literature and Soureh Mehr Publication in 2018. The book is structured in 421 pages and eight chapters: the introduction transforms the applicable approach to theoretic, the characteristics of oral history, self, subjectivity, intersubjectivity, memory, narrative, performance and power. Couple of forewords and introductions precede the eight chapters and then followed by the references used to compile the eight chapters of the book.
