Being Attended among the Martyrs at the Time of New Year

Memoirs of Nejat-Ali Eskandari

In March 1982, I had returned to the front from a vacation when it was announced that the area was completely ready to operate. We spent the new year in the trenches and among friends and colleagues, and as soon as the radio announced the end of 1983, we all hugged and greeted each other with deep intimacy and love and congratulated New Year. At the moment when we were all sitting together cleaned and bathed in laundry, ...

Memoirs of a Japanese Mother of a Martyr in Iran

It was the spring of 1983. All the family members gathered around the Haft-seen and recited the New Year prayers, and listened to Imam Khomeinis Nowruz message. My husband recited the Quran as usual and then gave a gift to children. That day, all eyes were on Mohammad, who was about to return to the front. It was the Nowruz holidays. "Mommy, do you remember when I went to school, you once shaved my head?!" Mohammad said.

Memoirs of the Late Second Lieutenant Nejatali Eskandari

In the winter of 1979, a year after the victory of the Revolution, we were summoned to the army headquarter. We put on military uniforms and went to Lavizan. They led our battalion to a large-sized shed. It was the middle of winter, and snowing heavily. Shortly afterward, the sound of a car stopping outside the shed was heard, and several people entered. Surprisingly, we saw Sheikh Sadegh Khalkhali enter with two ...

Post-Revolution Iran in International Arena

Unfortunately, no serious work has been carried out in international arena neither about the revolution nor about the war. After the revolution, some countries have become sensitive toward Iran and were terrified of Iran. Due to anti-Iran propaganda, the facts and realities were turned upside down and no opportunity were given to Iran’s propaganda. Of course, since the new government had just been set up, our organizations were still unskilled. In foreign ministry, the revolutionary forces ...

Dr. Shariati Funeral in London

I was in Bochum (a city in the west of Germany) at that time. From Stuttgart, Mr. Nawab phoned and reported Dr. Shariatis death. Well, it was very shocking for us. Mr. Nawab suggested that we should go to London soon because there were whispers. Indeed, the SAVAK and the regimes propaganda organs had reported Dr. Shariatis death in the newspapers and implicitly said that the body was to come to Tehran and that a funeral would be held.

The Story of Taking the Photograph of Imam Khomeini in Najaf

In 1974- maybe 1975-, when I went to Iraq, one day I told Haj Mustafa to request Imam to permit me to take a lot of photos of him, but not a photo of a sheik who just sits with his cloak on his shoulders; but [it was better] he did his usual works and have nothing to do with me and I photograph. Haj Mostafa replied that he would get permission from the Imam to do it.

The condition of Tabriz Garrison in which it Fell

On the night of 11th of February, while I was in Tehran, I heard that the Tabriz Garrison had not yet been captured by the revolutionary forces and that the Maragheh armored force also wanted to attack Tabriz. I arrived in Tabriz at night. On the same day in Tehran, there was news that the Qazvin armored force wanted to attack Tehran; the people had dug the road and welded the iron ...

Young people fight against corruption centers in Shahroud

[Traveling to Aliabad and meeting with Ayatollah Madani] We along with the friends decided to step up our activities and make our protests more public about the citys corruption. During the operation, we were supposed to target several specific places, including two movie theaters in the city called Iran and Moulin Rouge, and at least break their windows, and if we could, set them on fire. This was the plan of religious guy but later,

How Ayatollah Qazi Was Martyred

Using a flashlight, we found two bullet shells of the four bullets. Then we got in the police car and went to Sina Hospital. A crowd had gathered in front of the hospital. No one from the people or the committee forces was allowed to go upstairs. I went upstairs and saw that Dr. Milani and Dr. Sarkhani were also there, and Mr. Yekta stood in the middle of the corridor. I saw Ayatollah Qazi in the operating room, ...

Programs of New Year Holidays
Without blooming, without flowers, without greenery and without a table for Haft-sin , another spring has been arrived. Spring came to the camp without bringing freshness and the first days of New Year began in this camp. We were unaware of the plans that old friends had in this camp when Eid (New Year) came.

Attack on Halabcheh narrated

With wet saliva, we are having the lunch which that loving Isfahani man gave us from the back of his van when he said goodbye in the city entrance. Adaspolo [lentils with rice] with yoghurt! We were just started having it when the plane dives, we go down and shelter behind the runnel, and a few moments later, when the plane raises up, we also raise our heads, and while eating, we see the high sides ...

The Arab People Committee

Another event that happened in Khuzestan Province and I followed up was the Arab People Committee. One day, we were informed that the Arabs had set up a committee special for themselves. At that time, I had less information about the Arab People , but knew well that dividing the people into Arab and non-Arab was a harmful measure.
