Agha Jamal Baladiechi’s Memoirs of Norouz released

“Baladieh Bitter and Sweet†penned by Shermin Naderi contains the memoirs of Agha Jamal Baladiechi who relates the memories of Tehran and its municipality during Naseri to Pahlavi historical periods together with photos and humor. A large part of the book focuses on his memories of Norouz.
IBNA: “Baladieh Bitter and Sweet: Diary of Agha Jamal Baladiechi†is another of Tehran Municipality Story Series penned by Shermin Naderi that in three volumes relates the stories of Tehran during the Naseri and Pahlavi periods.
The first volume, “Diary of Agha Jamal Baladiechi and His Father Agha Jamal Mostahab-bashi†revolves around Tehran during the Naseri to Mohammad-Ali Shah’s period. The second volume is titled “Diary of Engineer Jamal Baladiechi, Spoiled Son of Agha Jamal Baladiechi†that focuses on the story of Tehran in Ahmad Shah to Pahlavi eras. The third book is on “The Story of Tehran: Tehran Today†that is related by grandchildren of Tehran governors.
The stories are written in a humorous colloquial tone and are accompanied with photographs of Tehran that help to recognize the historical identity of this city from Qajar to date. There are captions for each photo that explain their historical significance. The narrative also reveals a lot about the lifestyle and thoughts of the people of Tehran. And a large part of it focuses on the memories of Norouz.
“Baladieh Bitter and Sweet: Diary of Agha Jamal Baladiechi†from Tehran Municipality Story Series is written by Shermin Naderi and published by Nashre Shahr in 3000 copies and 80 pages.
