Italian writer’s memories of Bosnian War

Maurizio Maggiani’s novel “The Night Traveler†(Il viaggiatore notturno) is translated into Persian by Athmar Mousavinia. This is the first book by this writer that becomes available in Persian.
IBNA: Mousavinia said, “The Night Traveler won the Strega Prize, best-known Italian literary award. Umberto Ecco is one of the winners of this prize.â€
The book is an account of the fictional life of an Italian researcher over a cliff in an Algerian desert waiting for migrating swallows. The Night Traveler contains a number of micro-narratives all revolving around social themes.
The main character is a zoologist and researcher writing about his memories of war in Bosnia. A large part of the story is about animals and his profession.
According to Mousavinia the book is published in Iran by permission of the author.
“The Night Traveler†is published in 1100 copies by Afsoon Khial Publications.
Mousavinia was born in 1978 and graduated in Italian Literature from the University of Tehran.
