Narratology : the form and functioning of narrative

Gerald Prince’s “Narratology : the form and functioning of narrative” is converted into Persian by Mohammad Shahba.

IBNA: Prince in this book makes a Strusturalist approach to the main component parts of narrative such as the narrator, narrate, internal narrator, audience, etc. In other words the author explains the function of narrative in simple words, said Shahba.

The academic member of the University of Art continued: “In general the author tries to offer a grammar for basic narratives in this book. Prince mentions a few conditions for ‘narrativity’ such as the existence of two events or situations, and also a temporal relation between them. The causal relations grow out of temporal relations.”

He added that all examples in this book are taken from well-known novels in the history of literature.

“Narratology : the form and functioning of narrative” is penned by Gerald Prince, translated by Mohammad Shahba, and published in 1500 copies and 208 pages by Minoye Kherad Publications.

Mohammad Shahba holds a PhD degree in Narratology from the UK and is now academic member of the University of Art.

He has translated a number of important books about the cinema, discourse and narrative such as ‘Mis En Scene in Cinema’, ‘Discourse Analysis in Television’, and ‘What is Cinema’.

The Arab People Committee

Another event that happened in Khuzestan Province and I followed up was the Arab People Committee. One day, we were informed that the Arabs had set up a committee special for themselves.
