A dictionary which took 20 years to compile published

The five-volume book ‘Kara English- Persian Dictionary-Encyclopedia’ compiled by the eminent Iranian author, translator and researcher Baha al-Din Khoramshahi will be unveiled at Arasbaran Cultural Center on Monday, May 25.
According to IBNA correspondent, this event is to be attended by Kamran Faani, Nasrollah Pourjavadi, Lima Saleh Ramsari (the publisher of the book) and Mehran Bazrae’i (representing the editorial team of this collection). This dictionary has taken 20 years to be compiled by Khoramshahi.
The five-volume collection of ‘Kara Dictionary-Encyclopedia’ compiled and collected by Baha al-din Khoramshahi is to be unveiled at 6:00 p.m. as a number of cultural figures of will attend the ceremony.
Baha’edin Khoramshahi, is the author and acting editor of the English - Persian Dictionary “Kara Dictionary – Encyclopedia”. He has completed this dictionary in collaboration with Saeed Hesami, Atefeh Qanbari and Tina Hamidi. The work was edited by Ali Mahrami and Mehran Bazra’i and a team of researchers, in 20 years. Due to its large size, this dictionary is published by the three publishing companies, Moein, Negah and Shabahang for the first time, and was offered at the 28th Tehran International Book Fair.
“Kara Dictionary – Encyclopedia” has a special feature; one is that for the first time in the area of Persian – English Dictionary, an encyclopedia is compiled with its material based on a summary of reputable encyclopedias like Britannica, having more than 15 thousand entries in it.
