The author believes that these three filmmakers had a crucial role in establishment of a trend called “New Wave” in Iranian cinema that have impressed filmmakers after them and considers Ibrahim Golestan to be of higher prominence. In his book, Jahed provides a clear image of the New Wave of Iranian Cinema and its real origins. These discourses are arranged based on consecutive meetings.

Aydin Aghdashlou writes about this book: “Writing with Camera is a challenging book which moves in two dimensions; one dimension in interpretation and introduction of the status of filmmaker Ibrahim Golestan. The other dimension of this book is the narration of Mr. Golestan about an era.”

The book includes an introduction covering the discourse and a brief induction to Ibrahim Golestan and his work and is designed in four main chapters titled: First Meeting, Second Meeting, Third Meeting, Fourth Meeting and an appendix with the title: Appendix: about Writing with Camera which is at the end of the book.

New edition of this book in its fifth publication includes an appendix which includes some of the writings and perspectives of prominent features in literature and culture about this book and an interview with Ali Mirzayi the editor in chief of Negah Noe magazine with the author.
