From January 3rd ,1979 in the decision-making council of the fighters of the Revolution, we decided to help the families of the martyrs, the wounded and the victims of the revolution, so that they would not have any financial problems.

This responsibility was given to me by Mr. Hassani. We gathered help, respectfully, from rich charitable and revolutionary people. With the company of one or two fighters and I, we went to martyrs’ houses at night and presented a sum of money to their families. This was usually done secretly. Sometimes Haj Mr. Hassani himself would come with us.

This was done all over Iran by clergies and revolutionaries. At that time, there was neither the Shahid Foundation, nor a center or community that was in charge of this matter. Providing for the needs of the martyr’s families and victims and political prisoners, was the responsibility of the revolutionaries themselves, especially the charitable and clergies, who were the followers of the line of Imam Khomeini.

Some dependents of the Shah’s regime in the police of Rezaieh (Urmia), January 2nd, attacked the people and the revolutionaries. They killed and shed the blood of innocent people. They suppressed people’s protest with tanks. The revolutionary fighters in Urmia, decided to take revenge from the main enforcers of the people’s slaughter and punish them for their deeds. Following this revolutionary decision, Col. Mehrpour, the main enforcer of people’s slaughter and the criminal chief of the police and some of his associates in the police and SAVAK were killed by the fighters. The revenge from these criminals, made people happy and frightened the criminals of the regime who were lying in wait to kill people.

A Memory of an Army Aviation Pilot

I was taking a nap in my office when the door opened and a soldier entered the room. I got up from my chair and after arranging my clothes, I prepared to hear the soldier's news. After saluting, he said, "Captain, the commander has business with you." And with this, he paid military respect and left the room.
