According to website of Iranian Oral History, “News of the Month” is the title of a series of reports related to the issue of the site in written and cyber media. What follows is the news related to Khordad 1401 (May-June 2022):

* The head of Shiraz Municipality's Healthy Sports and Recreation Department, referring to the beginning of recording the oral history of sports in this metropolis, added, “Efforts have been made to make sports a part of the household basket”.

*On the occasion of the anniversary of the liberation of Khorramshahr, a film introducing the book by the veteran oral history and a combatant of the holy defense Mohammad Masoumi, retired colonel of the Islamic Republic of Iran Army, was released by Zanjan Province Defense Studio.  

*The Director General of the Department of Preservation and Publication of Holy Defense Works and Values in Qom Province said, “Over the past year, a total of 12 oral books and 90 book titles have been compiled about the martyrs of Qom, and it is necessary to pay more attention to preserve the oral history of the war.”

*A meeting on critiquing and reviewing the book “Oral History of Iranian Librarianship” was held in the venue of the Think Tank of the National Library of Iran on Wednesday 4^th of Khordad (May 25).

*Pointing out that parallelism reduces the energy and power of the society, the Editor-In-Chief of Rah-e Yar Publication Institute said, “In Rah-e Yar Publications, ,we in the discussion of oral history dealt with the oral history of progress and paid attention to the achievements of the Islamic Revolution in various fields such as medicine, industry, and military”.

*In the meeting of the Commander-In-Chief of IRGC with the line-breaking commanders of the holy defense combat battalions, the Head of the Center for Holy Defense Documents and Research announced the compilation of the oral history of 350 commanders of the Holy Defense Combat Battalion.

*A project for documenting the life and services of 20 contemporary figures from the town of Ardekan titled “Oral History of Ardekan” started by an Ardekani artist.

*In a ceremony attended by the holy defense commanders, the oral history book of the war hunter titled “Shahin Achachi” was unveiled in Fars Province.

*The Director General of the Department of Preservation of Holy Defense Works of Gilan Province said, “More than five thousand copies of memories and documents have been collected in the field if the holy defense oral history of the province.”

*In a ceremony held in the Holy Defense Garden Museum, 30 titles of oral history books related to the recent one year were unveiled and the owners of the selected works were honored.

*The Director General of the Department of Preservation of Holy Defense Works of Southern Khorasan Province said, “Since the establishment of Department of Preservation of Works and Publication of Holy Defense Values in Southern Khorasan, more than 260 titles of books in the field of holy defense with the topics of kid’s book, poetry, memories, and oral history have been released by the department.”    

*The seventh edition of the book “The Story of Royan” which narrates of the oral history of Dr. Saeed Kazemi Ashtiani in Royan Research Center from its establishment till stabilization and progress has been published by Rah-e Yar Publications.

*The Dean of Farhangian University in Lorestan Province said, “The oral history of the family of 33 martyred students and teachers of Farhangian University of Lorestan was prepared and unveiled”.

*The Acting Head of the Foundation of Preservation of Works and Holy Defense Values said, “We should increase children's national pride with the oral history of the Holy Defense”.

*A ceremony for unveiling the war albums with the topic of the oral history narration of the eight-year holy defense was held in Mashhad.

* Golali Babaee, a researcher and documentary maker of the holy defense, stated that oral history has been favored as an emerging type and at the same time full of audience, adding that if you compare the productions of the oral history of the holy defense field in the seventies and eighties (1990s and 2000s) with the nineties (2010s), you will realize that a very high quality improvement has taken place in these works.

*In a report, IBNA (Iran’s Book News Agency) has addressed the threats and opportunities of recording the oral history of 3 million activists of the holy defense era.

* A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Foundation of Martyrs and Veterans Affairs and the Provincial IRIB in order to record and broadcast the interviews of the martyrs in the form of oral history memory-writing.

* The strategic meeting of the encyclopedia and oral history of the holy defense of Khuzestan was held in the meeting hall of the General Directorate of Preservation of the Works and Publication of Holy Defense Values of Khuzestan.

*The Head of the Foundation of Martyrs and Veterans Affairs of Shahriar announced the beginning of a documentary on the oral history of the respected parents of the martyrs with the cooperation of the cultural and educational deputy of the General Directorate of Foundation OF Martyrs and Veterans Affairs of Tehran Province.

*An oral history meeting was held in Tabriz with the theme of "A New Landscape in Professional Research".

*The unveiling ceremony of the book "Caravan of Love", the oral history of Hamedan's mourning groups, was held.

*An expert workshop on the oral history of the Islamic Revolution and Holy Defense was held in Zanjan's Martyrs Museum.

*The Head of Iran's Natural Resources Organization announced the unveiling of the oral history book on combating desertification in the programs of the World Day to Combat Desertification.

* The Head of the Holy Defense Documents Organization said, "Every year, a large number of books on the oral history of the Holy Defense are published in the country, and this aim has been achieved in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer Ahmad province, but we are far from the desired point.

*6 book titles on the oral history of the holy defense of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer Ahmad were unveiled in Yasouj.

* An oral history workshop "Ahed Qalam" or the era of pen was held in the Hall of Technology Complex of Sistan and Baluchistan University.

*Tehran's Governor said, "It is important to celebrate and honor the veterans of the holy defense as valuable assets of the system, and the compiling of the oral history of the veterans of the holy defense is also emphasized".

*The first specialized meeting of the Oral History Unit of Isfahan's Office of Islamic Revolution Cultural Front Studies was held in Isfahan Constitutional House and the book "Nangsali" or the year of shame was discussed.

* In the meeting of the Documents Committee of the Coordination Council for Preservation of Holy Defense Works in Khorasan Razavi Province, it was emphasized on conducting expert training courses for interviewing and mobilizing existing capacities in order to collect the oral histories of the senior commanders of the province during the Holy Defense and veterans of jihad and resistance.
