Five New Books of Kaveh Bayat during the First 6 Months of the Year/Documents of Lieutenant Razm-Ara to the Memoirs of Malek Mansour Khan
Kaveh Bayat, Iranian historian and scholar, during the first six months of the year, published five new books. “Memorabilia and Documents of Lieutenant General Haj-Ali Razm-Ara†and “Memorabilia of Malek Mansourkhan Qashqai†are two examples.
Reported by Iran's Book News Agency (IBNA) Kaveh Bayat, contemporary history scholar of Iran is an active author who has published five new titles during the first 6 months of the year.
“Bahmayi Travel Literature: an account of evolutions in Kohgilouyeh & Bakhtiari during WWI “1916-1917â€, “Coup d’etat of Lahouti Tabriz, February of 1921â€, “Memoirs and Documents of Lieutenant General Haj-Ali Razm-Araâ€, “Memoirs of Malek Mansour-Khan Qashqai†and “Arian around a gimlet: Induction to Thoughts of Racism in Contemporary Iran: Biography and Selected works of Aria Part, Shervin Bavand†are some of Kaveh’s published books.
• Memoirs of Malek Mansour Khan Qashqai, is the first volume of the collection of memorabilia and documents of Malek Mansour-Khan Qashqai. These memorabilia provides a general and brief history of Qashqai tribe and its social groups and then moves to patriarch administration and territories of Sowlatodowleh in various areas of Fars . He wrote his memoirs in thirteen notebooks. These are key historical references with regards to the history of Qashqai and wide region of Fars. This collection narrates the history of Qashqai tribe in the period between WWI and WWII, their administrative structure and governance of patriarchs and other relevant information.
• A key proportion of Memorabilia and Documents of Lieutenant General Haj-Ali Razm-Ara includes the collection of his notes in 1945. These memorabilia is divided into four segments of “the old systemâ€, “western pagesâ€, “war collegeâ€, and “Post September 1941†including a preamble for each segment where the key features are defined.
• Travel Literature of Bahmai: Reports on Evolution of Kohgilouyeh and Bakhtiari in WWI 1916-1917: narrates a trip to a less popular region in Kohgilouyeh by a Britain political officer. Towards the end of WWI, Captain Noel visited Bahmai region which was less canvassed in Kohgilouyeh and Boyer Ahmadi. A daily account of the trip including documents andreports providing description of some policies adopted by the government of UK with regards to this region forms the heart of this book.
• Lahouti coup d’état of Tabriz is about Abolghasem Khan Lahouti, gendarme officer and leader of the coup d’état in Tabriz in February of 1921. The book focuses on two periods of his life. One part narrates his life during his governance on the gendarme of Qom from 1951 to 1953 and the second part reviews occupation of Tabriz by Lahouti and his followers and analyses the reaction of political forces of the city against this movement.
• Arian around a gimlet: a prologue on racism in contemporary Iran: biography and selection of works from Aria Part, Shervin Bavand starts with two critical introductions. Morad Saghafi, provides an introduction on racism and then Kaveh Bayat in a detailed introduction, gives a brief summary of Shervin Bavand’s ideology and analyzes his thoughts. Bavand is a contemporary scholar and social activist whose role in advocating racism in Iran is undeniable. Upon his return to Iran after studying in Russia and then Germany, he started advocating racism and left numerous works behind.
