The conference, The Iran-Iraq War: The View from Baghdad, will take place from the 25th to 27th of October, 2011, at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in Washington, DC.
The Iran-Iraq War: The View from Baghdad will be centered on newly available documentary evidence from Iraqi archives stored digitally at the CRRC and available to researchers at NDU.
These new materials, including high-level Iraqi government documents and recorded conversations between Saddam Hussein and his top deputies shed new light on the origins of the conflict, its global and regional Cold War context, the decision-making process of Iraqi leadership, and a wide variety of other topics.
Please consider joining us for what will surely be an informative and rich discussion of this significant new source of archival material.
