Students in the oral history program in the D.C. Everest School District have published 20 books, and the 21st is a few months away from its print date.
Students are putting the final touches on "Wisconsin Women: Celebrating their Contributions". It's a project two and a half years in the making.
The junior and high school school students interviewed 100 women who have changed the culture of the state.
"Their stories haven't always been told or they've been kind of stifled by men. And it's important that they've overcome so much because they used to be. They're the mother, but now they're pushing through and accomplishing so much and contributing so much to society that it's just so inspirational of how much they've overcome," says Katie Cyr, who's working on the book.
The book is scheduled to be released this fall. You can find the story of Newschannel 7's Bao Vang in the book.
