Virtual participation is available for those who are unable to attend the conference in person. Proposal ideas that extend beyond these thematic areas will also be considered.
Vancouver & The Humanities
In 2015, the conference moves to Vancouver, Canada. Now a global metropolis, people have been present in the Vancouver area for nearly ten millennia. The current city, located on the traditional territories of the Coast Salish group, is home to a diversity of cultures, each bringing a vibrant and distinct cacophony of cuisines, heritage, belief systems, and principles which have helped to shape the human and cultural cityscape of today's Vancouver.
This thriving international city is an ideal venue from which to explore our perspectives on the human condition and the current state of studies of the humanities. We've strategically partnered with the University of British Columbia, whose breathtaking campus puts you within reach of the city's rich culture, diverse heritage, natural beauty, and bustling business sector.
