The head of the Social and Cultural Affairs of the Center for Studies and Planning of Tehran has said that the oral history of the capital of Islamic Republic of Iran will be documented.
Sobhan Yahyaee said, “The first phase of the documentation of Tehran’s oral history will start this year during which the identification of narrators, the areas of the main topics of the talks, and what will be narrated, will be registered. Unfortunately, many oral narrators of Tehran are not alive anymore and we believe that the more we delay the plan, the more we lose Tehran’s first-hand narrators. The oral history of Tehran will be documented in order to become merely a theme of research for many future studies. It can also be applied for the identification of the city’s identity. In this process, other organizations will cooperate with us. For instance, the National Library will help us in producing the documentary.”
