Basij to collect martyrs biographies



Cultural deputy to the Army of the Guardians of the Islamic Revolution said not much has been done about martyrs lives and the army is considering plans to compensate for the shortcomings in this regard.

IBNA: In an talk with IBNA on the sidelines of a conference held for Soroush Publications Basijis, Hamid Reza Moghadamfar stated that the army is seriously considering publication of new volumes on the biographies of Sacred Defense martyrs. As he said, such works are scarce in the market and a lot more needs to be done.

During the Sacred Defense week, numerous titles about martyrs were unveiled in various ceremonies and comprehensive move is underway to disseminate the lives of the martyrs, he added.

Moreover, Basij Organization has engaged itself with publication of new Sacred Defense fiction works. To this end, it backs all writers interested to write about martyrs.

The conference was held yesterday, November 26, 2011, at the Soroush Publications community hall.

The Basij (officially Basij-e Mostazafin, literally Mobilization of the Oppressed) is a paramilitary volunteer force established in 1979 by order of the Islamic Revolutions leader Ayatollah Khomeini. The force consists of young Iranians whove volunteered.
