A Foot That Was Left Behind to be read in book radio

The manger of book radio said that currently the book Da is being read in the radio every night which will be followed by A Foot That Was Left Behind in the future.

IBNA: The manger of book radio Hamid Reza Valian said that the book radio has launched in order to develop the cultural aspect of the Islamic Revolution as well as supporting the publishers, writers and the officials of book related media which work with the framework of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Inaugurating the radio channel we intend to take a step towards promoting the culture of books and reading, he added.

The channel pays heed to literature particularly the literature of the Islamic Revolution and Sacred Defense, Valian said.

Currently Da is being read every night. The book contains recollections by Seyyedeh Zahra Hosseini of the time when the Iraqi army captured Khorramshahr in the early days of the 1980-1988 Iran-Iraq war. It is a true-to-life story of a teenager who experienced the early days of the war in Khorramshahr.

Seyyedeh Azam Hosseini wrote “Da” according to narrations by Seyyedeh Zahra Hosseini. The book was published in 2008 and soon afterwards became an Iranian best seller.

After the book finishes, A Foot That Was Left Behind will be read. The book is a diary of Seyyed Nasser Hosseinipur during his 880 days of captivity in Iraq. He is captured by the Iraqi soldiers after he is injured in his leg during a military operation when he is only 16. His leg is cut off after he is transferred into Iraq.
