Iran to launch virtual digital library network

Secretary general of the Foundation of Public Libraries announced that the first compressive digital library network in Iran will be run by the end of the current year.

IBNA: Speaking with IBNA, Mansour Vaezi stated that Persian ebooks will be made available in the network of digital libraries of the foundation.

He expressed hope that the network will be operational by the end of the current year in Persian calendar.

He went on to say that the network will be equipped with audio books for the visually handicapped.

As he said, there is at least a library for the blind in all parts of the country, and where there are more blind clients more specialized libraries have been constructed to address their needs.

He further invited benefactors to offer their donations to the foundation’s cultural projects.
