Memoirs of first decade after revolution to be published

23 January 2013

The Islamic Revolution Literature Bureau will publish a series of memoirs about the first ten years after the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran.

IBNA: The collection is entitled as “I say it for the sake of History”, and is penned by Saeid Allamian. The works will be published by Soure Mehr Publishing Company.

Hedayatollah Behboudi, manager of the Islamic Revolution Literature Bureau, has said that the collection is being prepared with the aim of filling the gap in the historical documents and collections about the first years of Iran after the victory of the Islamic Revolution.

“The first decade after the revolution was marked with various important events in Iran’s history like the Sacred Defense and many other ups and downs,” said Behboudi.

“We began working on the collection with two volumes encompassing memories of Mohsen Rafighdoust and Javad Mansouri. The volumes will be published as accounts about the events from the view points of two prominent revolutionary figures.”

Rafighdoust's memoir is important due to certain features; one is that it took Saeid Allamian three years to interview and gather data about Mr. Rafighdoust given his business and cramped daily programs.

Another feature of the book is Mr. Rafighdoust’s frankness in telling his memories which has made the book attractive for readers. The other important feature of the book is the Mr. Rafighdoust was one of those who was in the closest contact with revolutionary events in those years.

Mohsen Rafighdoust was the chief of Imam Khomeini's security detail in 1979 during the Iranian Revolution, and helped found the Revolutionary Guards Corp who helped eliminate opposition to theocratic rule in the Islamic Republic.
