Sacred Defense fair expected to sell 300m rials daily

Deputy executive director of the third National Sacred Defense Book Fair surmised that 200 to 300 million rials of books will be purchased on a daily basis during the course of the book fair.

IBNA: Over 5,700 titles have been presented for the Book of the Year Award fair which is running at the permanent fairgrounds of Shiraz. 7% of the showcases are first prints by various publishing companies in Iran.

The book fair officially opened on Saturday in the presence of high-profile cultural and military officials in Shiraz. The first groups of visitors were students from schools and universities.

Commander Ali Nazeri, deputy executive director of the fair, said postulated that the book sales in the fair will reach 300 million rials on a daily basis.

“The rate of sales has almost doubled in comparison to the previous edition of the fair in Mashad last year,” he asserted. “Based on the latest news, some government organizations have made purchases from the fair and it is expected that on average 200 to 300 million rials worth of Sacred Defense volumes will be sold in the two ending days of the exhibition.”
