Our Daughters the Soldiers at Toms River library branch

30 May 2012

TOMS RIVER- We all know of many contributions of the greatest generation during World War II, whether it is "Private Ryan" or even "Rosie the Riveter". But few know the important roles women played and how it continues to the present day.

The Ocean County Library Toms River branch (101 Washington St) will host "Our Daughters the Soldiers" on Monday May 21 at 7pm. This program will highlight many of the contributions women have made to the war effort from WWII to today.
Dr. Helen G. Brudner, Associate Director of the School of Political and International Studies at Fairleigh Dickenson University will discuss their experiences, how they were viewed by others and compare how women soldiers are treated now.
This program is funded by the Horizons Speakers Bureau of the New Jersey Council for the Humanities, a state partner of the National Endowment for Humanity, and by the Ocean County Library.
This program is free and open to the public. Please register online at www.theoceancountylibrary.org or call (732)349-6200 or (609)971-0514
